English for patient-administration and non-clinical hospital staff is a work mainly addressed to auxiliary and administration staff of health centres as well as to students/future workers of these centres that are interested in improving their competence in english language within their professional field in particular. By means of a theory-practice approach, the book deals with the four basic skills in any language -listening, speaking, writing and reading- also providing an integrated and comprehensive inventory of the most relevant terminology of the domain (always from a contextualised perspective), of its most recurrent and/or significant expressions, of the pragmatic strategies to adopt, and of the patterns and grammar of the english language with the purpose of improving communication and interaction in the professional field. With this aim in mind, the book is based on real work documents and texts for considering them the most realistic and accurate way of dealing with the study of any foreign language and its languages of speciality.
