Fingerprints is a three-level program in American English for pre-school children. It develops language through involvement in a variety of fun, child-centered activities. Children learn vocabulary and sentence structures as they sing, chant, play games, have conversations, take part in physical activities and put on plays. In addition, art, science, math and cooking projects provide opportunities for communicative use of the language and focused development of children?s skills. Level 2 consists of ten thematic units, providing material for each month of the school year. The units review and extend vocabulary and structures from level 1, and introduce new high-interest language, which is then recycled in subsequent units. This helps children develop confidence and competence with the language, by building on what they already know. Similarly, Level 3 reviews and extends the language presented in Levels 1 and 2.
