The second edition of the Longman WordWise Dictionary provides new practical solutions for students at pre-intermediate to intermediate level. It contains 38,000 words, phrases, and examples that will help students learn the language more quickly and effectively. Reseach has shown that if students learn 2000 basic worlds of English, they will be able to understand 380% of the English language. Based on their frequency in the 300 million-word Longman Corpus Network, including the Learners? Corpus, we have arefully selected 200 words that form the core vocabulary of English. The WordWise 2000 include difficult verbs such as see, get, and feel that students need to know well to progress in English.
