New Trends is the new edition of Trends series for post-secondary Bachillerato students. Like its predecessor, New Trends is a five-level, semester-based coursed, in the line with the R.I.E.M.S. reform, the CEFR, and the Competency Framework.
New Trends retains all the great features of the original series: clear didactic sequencing, inductive and deductive approaches to the new language, integrated workbook pages, and authentic task-based production, but has been redesigned based on feedback from teachers and academic coordinators.
The result is a course that blends traditional teaching techniques with the pedagogical and technological demands of modern teaching, while at the same time offering teachers both far greater curricular flexibility and more in-depth classroom support.
New Trends 5 has a change in focus from the previous four levels. In this semester, the spotlight is on developing students reading and writing ability. Vital reading skills are developed in each lesson alongside micro-writing tasks that, step by step, provide students with the knowledge, skills, and practice they need to become more proficient writers.
