Focusing on mechanistic-empirical design procedures, this volume presents a comprehensive exploration of the structural analysis and design of highway pavements. Although the current Pavement Design Guide adopted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) is mainly empirical, a new guide based on mechanistic-empirical procedures will be published and implemented in the very near future. This book will provide the fundamental background to a full understanding of these sophisticated procedures.
