Reading Paths is a literature-based supplementary series designed to help K-6 English language learners (ELLs) develop proficiency in the language through specialized attention to reading comprehension. In order for students to achieve competency in the four language arts domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, exposure to and interaction with authentic texts is a must. In addition, the selection of songs included in very unit provides another access point for students to have fun as they interact with the language. Reading Paths combines engaging reading selections, spanning a range of genres and subject areas, with innovative teaching strategies to facilitate ELLs? advancement in their acquisition of language proficiency.
